Paper Pumpkin Welcome Kit

Curiosity finally got me and I signed up for Paper Pumpkin.  After I got notification that it shipped I anxiously waited for it- the anticipation growing.  After it got to Connecticut it went to Massachusetts then to New Jersey!  Huh????  For a couple of days it seemed to be lost but found its way to New Hampshire last Friday.  At first, making 4 of the same card did not appeal to me.  Then I realized I could make them any way I wanted.  So I did!  These were fun and fast to put together.  Included in the Welcome Kit is a clear block along with everything you need plus envelopes to make 4 cards.  Each month a different kit comes along.  I am now wondering what will arrive in my mailbox this month?

Clean & Simple Challenge- 256!

It is amazing how I can sit down to stamp a card and then wonder what I am going to make.  However, if given a sketch the ideas begin to flow.  The minute I saw this sketch, I knew I would use the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set I received at Convention along with Yippee-Skippee!  I first stamped the background splatters in Basic Gray then added the lines in Stazon Black.  The sentiment was stamped in Real Red.  Just the simple border of black was not enough for me so I added a thin sliver of Real Red card stock.

This is definitely not my usual style but was fun never-the-less because it took me out of my comfort zone.  I then made a custom envelope using the new Envelope Punch Board.  Some advice before you use it.  It does come with written instructions which make the process so much easier!!!!  I bet you can guess why I am offering this tidbit.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets- Gorgeous Grunge, Yipee-Skipee!

New Envelope Punch Board!!!!!!!!

This was introduced to demonstrators at Convention this past July.  I have been patiently waiting for September 1st to come- release day!  Yeah!!! It has finally come.  For just $19.95 you can now make envelopes of just about any size.  It tells you what size paper you need, then with a few clicks and turns... voila!  You have a custom designed and sized envelope.

For the Birds 2

I have always loved this stamp set.  Maybe the reason is I like to color, but what ever the reason, using last weeks Fab Five design layout, I made another card.  I used my beloved Watercolor Pencils that have retired (sniff, sniff, sniff) and a blender pen to color the image.  It need something in the lower right hand corner so I used a button.  If I had had the Brights Candy Dots, I might have used 3 of them instead.  Oh well, they are something for me to add to my next order!!!

Supplies:
Stamp Set- For the Birds
Card Stock- Pacific Point, Real Red, Brights DSP
Ink- Black Stazon
Accessories- Vintage Faceted Designer Buttons, Bakers Twine (colored Real Red)

Circle Framelit- Secret Garden

Once I had an initial go using the Circle Framelit, the next one was so much easier to create.  I chose Blushing Bride card stock- a color I have never used.  After cutting it out, I used the Flower Garden Embossing Folder on the right side.  I realized I need something on the left edge so I punched out a border using the Scallop Edge Border in Smokey Slate and cut a little plain border using Basic Gray.  Hint, if you add a border, first cut off some from the base to keep the card the standard 4-1/4" x 5-1/2".  Next I stamped the large flower from Secret Garden and colored it in using a blender pen with Blushing Bride and Cherry Cobbler reinkers.  I punched out a circle in Basic Gray and mounted the flower using dimensionals.  Using the sentiment from Petite Pairs, I stamped one greeting on the front and the other inside using Smokey Slate.  The picture does not do justice to this card!  I hope you like it.

Supplies:
Stamp Sets- Secret Garden, Petite Pairs
Card Stock- Blushing Bride, basic Gray, Smokey Slate
Inks- Black Stazon, Blushing Bride, Cherry Cobbler
Accessories- Circle Framelit, Flower Garden Embossing Folder, Circle Punch 2-1/2"

For the Birds

Posting consistently on a blog can get overwhelming.  I decided to seek the support of some of my fellow demonstrators to help motivate me.  One of these ladies suggested we complete a weekly challenge.  We chose "Fab Friday."  Each Friday a card sketch is posted and then it is up to each participant to choose colors, stamp sets, etc. and create the design.  We then post on our own blogs and on the Fab Friday site.  If you have lost your mojo, this is a great starting point to get it back.
