From My Heart- New Thinlit
I have been wanting to use the new Circle Thinlits and there is no time like the present! Using Calypso Coral I cut it out, folded it, then.... nothing. I had no idea what I should do next. For inspiration I turned to the Stampin" Up! demonstrator website, Stampin' Connection and looked at samples using this thinlit. I discovered I liked the cards that used DSP on both sides. With that I took out my Subtles Collections' DSP and cut it to fit both sides. I knew I wanted an image that was somewhat circular and found the stamp set From my Heart. I stamped it on Whisper White then partly cut it out taking advantage of the circular shape but hand cutting the ends of the banner. I stamped it again and cut out just the banner. Then using Coastal Cabana and Calypso Coral reinkers I colored in the stamped image and adhered it to the card base. I colored in the banner and used dimensionals to attach it on top. On the reverse side of the circle, I stamped the sentiment on Whisper White. I used the scalloped circle from this thinlit set and cut out it out in Crisp Cantalope. Using dimensionals I mounted the sentiment on the scallop circle and attached it to the circle. Last I added three pearls to the bottom right hand corner. I am pleased with the results!

Baby Tees and More.....
My daughter asked me to make a baby shower card for her. A good friend from graduate school is having a baby. I don't have a lot of baby stamps so I relied on the Baby Tees Wheel. I prefer using Black Stazon ink so I rolled the wheel on the pad then onto Whisper White card stock. For the card in Calypso Coral I used my trusted blender pen and reinkers. For the second card in blues I used the retired (sniff, sniff, sniff) watercolor pencils, my favorite coloring tool. This card went to a customer who just had a baby boy. Congratulations Kayla and Gabe!
Please note the beautifully lined envelopes!!!! I think the lining adds a very polished look to any card.
Supplies:
Stamp- Baby Tees Wheel, Watercolor Minis (retired)
Card Stock- Whisper White, Calypso Coral, Soft Sky, Marina, Soft Sky DSP, Calypso Coral DSP
Ink- Black Stazon and various reinkers
Accessories- Baker's Twine, Clothespins (retired), Chipboard
Stay tuned for the next installment on Wednesday- how to make the envelope liners!

Inspired By Nature
I am sorry I have been away for so long. My mother-in-law was staying with us as she recovered from a blood clot in her leg. We got word one night from the nursing home that my father-in-law was critically ill and my husband raced back to Florida to be with his dad. I joined them a few days later and my father-in-law passed away the week before Christmas. He now is at peace and life is beginning to return to normal in New Hampshire.
For Christmas gifts, I made up packages of six cards to give to my
co-workers at school. I always have liked this retired stamp- Inspired By
Nature. I dusted off my watercolor crayons and used them to
create these Black-Eyed-Susans. I colored directly on the stamp
then misted using a water bottle. It gives a lovely watercolor effect.

Sneak Preview
The UPS man, in a Budget truck rental, delivered 13lbs. of goodies to me from the new mini catalog that becomes available on January 3rd! It was just like Christmas opening the box and seeing brand new toys to play with.
I was asked today to make a special card for a colleague at work who is undergoing surgery tomorrow. This technique and image was CASED from the catalog. First, I stamped the Swallowtail image using VersaMark ink. Then, I embossed using Pool Party embossing powder. Next, I brushed Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint over the stamped image using an Aqua Painter. I heat set it again and voila!- a very shimmery translucent image.
Supplies:
Stamp Sets- Swallowtail, Warmest Regards (retired)
Paper- Whisper White, Pool Party, So Saffron
Ink- VersaMark
Accessories- Champagne Mist Shimmer Paint, Pool Party embossing powder
